If you are a real fan of Ronald Moore Battlestar Galactica Restart, then you know that the real secret weapon of the show is music. From introductory credits to the last shot, the composer Bear McCreary provided killer music, which helped revive the bleak prognosis of humanity. While the series itself has often focused on high-tech innovations such as cylons, the “cylon theme” of the episode “You can’t go home again” was definitely low-tech. In fact, it was secretly folded using kitchen dishes!
Battlestar GalacticaMusic Maestro McCreary described its creative process for an episode that included arrival with metal sound effects. It was a very suitable idea conceptually. Since the original cylons caused metal monsters, it makes sense that their thematic song would have metal effects. But what no fan could predict is Lofi the way McCreary has created this music: “This topic was originally carried out using pots, pans and toaster for metal effects,” he said.
While the “cylon theme” may sound like quite an integral piece Battlestar GalacticaTrore, this unforgettable piece of music was not introduced until “you can go home again”, the fifth episode of the season 1. Without oxygen. Meanwhile, the B-plot is followed by Helo as he is still trying to survive on the post-apocalyptic planet Caprica with what he thinks is a boomer, but is a secret cylone.
Obviously, more exciting pieces of this episode include the struggle of Starbuck in life or death, and the harsh decisions of the commander Adama to dedicate the source of the fleet of her rescue. This effectively created the moral dilemma of the episode about how many very limited sources should be spent on the rescue efforts of Starbuck. What is her life, the episode asked, weighed against the whole humanity?
Despite this excitement, however, Helo and his cylon Gal are part of the most interesting part of the whole episode including a shootout in the kitchen. And the man behind all Battlestar GalacticaThe greatest music was pleased to see the scene in question because this scene served some sweet, sweet irony.
Bear McCreary noted the irony that this iconic piece Battlestar Galactica Music “was folded before I saw” You can’t go home again “.” Why is that so important? In his words, because the episode “includes a scene where Helo fights with centuries -old kitchen and bound bullets on pots, pans and toaster!”
This is true: he folded the song using kitchen dishes and only later found out that it was used in an episode with a kitchen shootout that included similar kling and deceptions to his “Cylon theme”. And if you have ever folded some main jams own Kitchen using pans that you are too lazy to actually stand up, just think: You swing in the footsteps of the primitive composer Emmy.
Although you are not Battlestar Galactica Fan, you are probably familiar with the name Bear McCreary because he created music for other iconic shows, including Forces, Black sailsand Outlander and the main movies like Happy Death Day and Godzilla: King of monster. The director was effortlessly visionary music left many fans thinking exactly as It creates types of topics that transport us over time and space. Now we have an answer to exactly how MCCreary cooks some of these tasty melodies, and that’s in the kitchen.
