TO Texas man Condemned for killing a shepherd in his own church during a robbery, days after being released from an anger management program ordered by the Court, he was executed Wednesday night.
Steven Lawayne Nelson, 37, was declared dead at 6:50 pm local time after alayan injection that was administered in a state penitentiary in Huntsville.
Before the injection, Nelson repeatedly told his wife, who was looking through a window a short distance from him with a white service dog that was allowed to bring the witness’s area, who loved her and that she was grateful And grateful, the Associated Press informed.

While he was taking the lethal dose of the sedative Pentobarbital, Nelson told Helene Noa Dubois, who married him recently while he was in prison: “Let me go to sleep.” The drug seemed to go into force when he said the word, “love,” then gasped twice and seemed to try to contain breathing. His head, shoulders and arms trembled for a few seconds before every movement stopped. He was declared dead 24 minutes later.
Nelson was sentenced to death by the murder in 2011 of Reverend Clint Dobson, 28, who was beaten, strangled and suffocated with a plastic bag inside the Northpointe Bautista Church in Arlington. Nelson killed Dobson while sitting in his office writing a sermon.
Nelson said he had only served as a robbery surveillance and blamed two other men for killing Dobson. He said he waited outside the church for about 25 minutes before entering and seeing that Dobson and the secretary of the Judy Elliott church had been beaten. He insisted that Dobson was still alive at that time.
Nelson said he took Dobson’s laptop and that one of the other two men who participated in the robbery gave him Elliott’s keys and credit cards. The two victims were located by Elliott’s husband, part -time minister of partner of the church, who did not recognize it immediately because he had been so severely beaten, Associated Press reported.

Nelson was captured after going to a shopping spree using the victims’ stolen credit cards, Fox Dallas reported.
Three days before The murderNelson had been released from an IRA management program ordered by the Court as part of an agreement with Dallas County prosecutors after he was arrested by aggravated assault on his girlfriend.
The relatives of the victims refused to talk to journalists and published earlier statements on Wednesday.

“As a family, we have chosen to take this day to concentrate on the great memories we have of Clint instead of giving time to his murderer,” said Dobson’s family in his statement. “Steven Nelson changed our lives forever, but he has never occupied our minds … We miss Clint every day. We miss his laugh and his ingenuity, his advice and his love for us.”
Bradley Elliott, whose mother Judy survived the attack, said: “I hope that today, Mr. Nelson, he breathed for the last time he was received by the same loving and friendly Savior who has kept us in everything we have been part.” The statement added: “Mr. Nelson, we forgive him and hope to see him when they call us home from here.”

Nelson’s lawyers appealed the sentence, claiming that he had a bad legal representation in his trial, saying that they failed to challenge the co -stood of the other two men and did not present attenuating evidence of a problematic childhood with problems. Then Godmm Hellolo and Texas.
The Texas Department of Criminal Justice did not immediately respond to a request for information on Nelson’s last meal.

Nelson’s execution is the second in the US this year and the first of the four scheduled in Texas in the next three months.
