Rumors of retirement
According to reports, promoter Eddie Hearn believes that Crawford can now withdraw that he failed to fight with Canelo. He says that Canelo-Paul’s fight can have “derailed ” The Crawford party permanently.

If Crawford, 37, wants to sit and wait for the result of the mega cinnamon fight against Jake, hoping that the negotiations be with the Mexican star, can do it. That would look so desperately weak on his part, and his popularity would continue to decrease if he will not remain busy.
Fighting one of those guys would pay well, and if Crawford won, he would create more interest in a fight between him and Canelo. The fight would no longer be seen as an effective outlet, which is what they would be now if they fight.

It has more than 20 million Instagram followers and more than 20 million youtube subscribers, many of whom will become Canelo fans after this fight.
Crawford inactivity
Crawford needs to defend his Junior AB Junior weight title that he won from Israil Madrimov last year in August. He has not yet defended that belt, and is holding it hostage. All the contestants in the Top 15 of the AMB are having their races stagnated by Crawford, do not defend.
