Canelo and Munguia join for the training camp in San Diego

Canelo Álvarez and Jaime Munguia are now training together in San Diego for their respective fights against William Scull and Bruno Sureace.

Salvador Rodríguez reports that Canelo training (62-2-2, 39 ko) and Munguia. He published a video of them in training today. The medium weight champion of the WBC, WBC and the WBO, Canelo, faces Champ Scull (23-0, 9 KO) for the undisputed championship on May 3 in Riad. Munguia will fight a rematch with Sureace.

Ideal clashes

Canelo and Munguia would be better changing opponents. Munguia could fight Scull, which would be very gainable to him. Canelo could face the undefeated Sureace to avenge the loss of Munguia for him. That would be the ideal situation.

Last May, Canelo defeated Munguia for a unanimous decision of 12 rounds, giving him his first defeat in his career before he surreated in six rounds later in the year of December 14.

It is exaggerated that Canelo uses Munguia as his training partner for Scull, since he is not at the same level in terms of power and offensive skills. Canelo has firepower to stop Scull unless he climbs his bicycle to move.

Scull is the one that Turki Al-Sheikh wanted for the first Canelo fight of his four fighting agreement with the Riyadh season. Canelo was in the negotiations of what would have been a gigantic fight against Jake Paul, but Turki signed an agreement.

He chose Scull as an opponent for Canelo to help establish his “great fight” against Terence Crawford. That fight will probably attract much smaller numbers in PPV than Canelo vs. Paul because Crawford is not popular and is not a great attractive PPV.
