Marc Fogel’s mother, an American who had been arrested in Russia Since 2021Expresses relief and gratitude to President Donald Trump for ensuring his release on Tuesday.
“(Trump) promised me that he would take it out, and maintained his promise,” said Malphine Fogel to “América reports.” “I can’t thank you enough.”
Marc FogelA history professor who worked at the Anglo -American school in Moscow, returns to the American soil after Russia released him after conversations with the Trump administration officials. Fogel was serving a sentence of 14 years after his arrest in August 2021 at a Russian airport for being in drug possession, that his family and their supporters said they were prescribed by marijuana.
His mother, malfina, met with Trump Before his fateful demonstration in Butler, Pennsylvania last year, asking the then presidential candidate not to forget his son’s name. He assured him that he would bring his son home.
Now, Malphine is celebrating that promise fulfilled.

“I met with President Trump, and he was as cordial as it could be,” said Malphine Fogel of Butler’s meeting. “He told me three different times, ‘if I enter’, he said, ‘I will take it out’ and I really think it has been instrumental.”
In addition to wanting to thank Trump “profusely” for his work to take his son home, Malphine Fogel also expressed his gratitude to Secretary of State Marco Rubio and others who worked in the case.
She described the relief she felt after learning that her son would soon be at home.
“It was a total surprise when he called, and said he was at Moscow airport,” the cheerful joy. “So, that meant that (they) had taken him out of prison to Moscow … The last week more or less, for some crazy reason, I had a better feeling about things, but I had not had news of him in a week , so I thought it was strange and when he called this morning, it was just a total shock. ”

Fogel said his son will be “sore for all the hugs” he receives once he lands in the United States.
“It’s just an incredible situation at this time,” he said. “We are waiting and waiting to take it to the US.
