A person has been killed and four wounds in the last missile attack of Russia against the capital of Ukraine during the night.
kyiv mayor, Vitali Klitschko, said a nine -year -old girl was among the wounds in the attack in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The Ukrainian army said it had knocked down six of seven ballistic missiles and 71 drones launched by Russia during the night.
It occurs after President Volodymyr Zelensky suggested that Ukraine would be prepared to exchange lands with Russia in possible peace negotiations.
The attack caused damage to the districts of Holosiivskyi, Podilskyi, Sviathoshynskyi and Obolonskyi of kyiv, Klitschko said on Telegram.
Meanwhile, the city of Kryvyi Rih saw damage to several infrastructure and residential buildings, as it was also attacked in a Russian missile strike during the night, said Dnipropetrovsk regional governor, Serhiy Lysak, in Telegram.
In reaction to the attack on the application of Telegram messaging, Zelensky said that Russian President Vladimir Putin “was not prepared for peace.”
“He continues to kill Ukrainians and destroy cities.
“At this time, we need the unity and support of all our partners in the struggle for an end of this war,” he said.
It occurs after Zelensky told The Guardian that he would be prepared to exchange land with Russia in a future peace negotiation.
He told the newspaper that parts of the Kursk region of Russia, which Ukraine has had from an offensive six months ago, could be returned in exchange for Ukrainian territory currently occupied by Moscow.
Ukraine has never said that he wanted to permanently occupy the hundreds of square kilometers that he seized in the Kursk region of Russia, but the goal may have become clearer.
Initially the operation was expected to relieve pressure on the exaggerated Ukrainian troops in other parts of the front line, however, with the continuous domain of the Russian battlefield, President Zelensky is now looking to use it as political leverage.
He admits that Ukraine cannot enjoy any security guarantee without his greatest ally, United States.
On Friday he will meet with Vice President JD Vance, who has been critical of US military support for kyiv.
With Whitehouse looking at the natural resources of Ukraine in exchange for continuous help, the leader of Ukraine is in launch mode.
