Marc Fogel, an American who had been arrested in Russia Since 2021, he landed in the United States on Tuesday.
Fogel, a history teacher who worked at the Anglo -American school in Moscow, returned to the United States after his release from Russia after the conversations with the Trump administration.
I was serving a sentence of 14 years after its arrest in August 2021 at a Russian airport to Drug possessionthat his family said he was medically marijuana.
Fogel was seen in an image published by the White House on social networks smiling and raising his fist while he was wrapped in an American flag while leaving the plane on American soil.

“Marc Fogel has returned! Promises made, promises maintained!” The White House wrote in X.
After his arrival in the United States, Fogel, from Pennsylvania, met with the president Donald Trump in the White House and called him a hero to ensure his release.
“I want you to know that I am not a hero in this. And President Trump is a hero,” Fogel said after meeting Trump.
“These men who came from the diplomatic service are heroes,” Fogel continued. “The senators and representatives who approved the legislation in my honor, took me home, are heroes.”

Fogel added: “I am amazed at what everyone did.”
He said he feels “like the luckiest man on Earth at this time.”
Trump National Security Advisor Michael Waltz said that the United States and Russia “negotiated an exchange” to guarantee Fogel’s release, although he did not reveal what the United States was renouncing. Some previous negotiations have involved Russian releases by the United States or its allies in exchange for an American American.
When journalists asked him if the United States had renounced something in exchange for Fogel, Trump replied “not much” without offering additional details.

Fogel’s family thanked Trump and others who worked to ensure his release.
“We are more than grateful, relieved and overwhelmed that after more than three years of detention, our father, husband and son, Marc Fogel, finally return home,” the family said in a statement.
“Thanks to the unwavering leadership of President Trump, Marc will soon return on the American ground, free where he belongs. This has been the darkest and painful period of our lives, but today, we begin to heal,” added the statement.
