Trump’s reciprocal tariffs could arrive on Thursday, says the White House.

President Donald Trump could announce your reciprocal tariff plan before meeting with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi On Thursday, the White House said Wednesday.

“I think it will come before the visit of Prime Minister tomorrow,” said Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt to White House journalists when asked about Trump’s next announcement.

She added: “I will let the President debate the details on the front of the reciprocal rate, but this is something he firmly believes.”

Trump said Sunday that he planned to slapped reciprocal tariffs on “all countries” imposed by import tariffs in the United States.

“Very simply is that if they charge us, we charge them,” he said on Air Force One, NBC News reported.

The president of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, Republican of La-La., Said Wednesday that he believes that Trump is considering exemptions from his reciprocal tariffs for pharmaceutical and car industries, Reuters reported.

The seemingly imminent movement would underline the extent to which Trump is making tariffs a central component of his economic agenda.

In his first month in office, Trump imposed broad import tariffs in China, Canada and Mexico. He paused tariffs on the two American neighbors for 30 days after they hit the agreements of monitoring illegal crosses and drug trafficking on their respective borders.

Reuters, citing government officials, reported on Monday That Modi is preparing to reduce his tariffs in multiple sectors before his meeting with Trump, since India seeks to avoid a possible commercial war with the United States.
