The State Health Commissioner, Dr. James McDonald, shared that the infected individual is under the care of a doctor and isolated “until the complete resolution of the symptoms.”
“The local MPOX IBX transmission is not known in the community where the individual lives or anywhere in the state of New York,” he said in a statement.

McDonald added that the Jynneos vaccine, which is a series of preventive vaccines of two doses for MPOX, is expected to be effective “against this new strain.
“(It is) available for people at risk with the permanent order I signed last year,” he said. “There is no immediate risk for the general public.”

The Department of Health added in its advice that people should consult with their local pharmacy or medical care provider on Availability of vaccines As they continue “monitoring and maintaining the situation.”
Mpox is “rarely fatal”, according to the department, but it can be dangerous for people with immunocompromis conditions, as well as older adults, young children and pregnant women.

Symptoms may include eruptions that progress to “painful skin lesions”, in addition to swollen lymph nodes, fever, throat pain, headaches, headaches, headaches, backacheLow energy and muscle pains, the department listed.
There is a “high probability of transmission” until these lesions are questioned, which means that people are encouraged to isolate until the new skin is formed at the site of the lesion.
“There is no immediate risk for the general public.”
Mpox can spread Through close and intimate contact with sores, scabs or rashes, the department declared, as well as through respiratory drops, saliva or mucus of an infected person.
Those who plan to travel to areas with reported cases of MPOX should consider being vaccinated with the two doses of jynneos, experts recommend.

“We are discovering that other countries have also reported cases of clado I associated with trips, including Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Oman, Pakistan, South Sudan, Sweden, Thailand, the United Kingdom and Zimbabwe “He said.
“Cases of this strain are expected due to the continuous outbreak in multiple countries and the risks associated with global trips.”
“It is important to recognize that cases of this strain are expected due to the ongoing outbreak in multiple countries and the risks associated with global trips. “
Mpox can be infectious up to four days before the symptoms occur, but it is more contagious from the symptoms of time that appear up to approximately two or four weeks later, according to Druckman.

The expert emphasized that vaccination is recommended for high -risk people, such as health workers with high exposure or people with weakened immune systems.
“The prevention of MPOX is mainly through vaccination and avoids skin -to -skin contact with others, especially those with visible symptoms or shoots, and observing good personal hygiene and washing your hands well and often,” he added.
