According to the DPD Facebook page, at least five meetings are being held, with the first launch of Wednesday and the rest until February 20.
On Wednesday, the interim chief of the DPD, Michael IGO, tried to calm the fears through the local immigrant communities that the force will help immigrations and the application of customs (ICE) in their deportation efforts, which have increased under The Trump administration.

“The Dallas Police Department is not helping any federal agency to stop documented or undocumented people in the city of Dallas,” Iigo told the attendees of the Bethel Family International Church in Dallas, according to CBS News.
Iigo, who has been the Chief of Interim Police since October, told Spanish -speaking parishioners that his department would not deliver or inform anyone. here illegally who calls 911 for help or is arrested for traffic violations.
“I need you to continue calling the police, not to be afraid to leave their homes to go to work, send our children to school,” Iigo said.
He also assured the parishioners that there would be no arrests or raids in churches, schools or hospitals, although he said that immigrants with pending orders would probably face deportation.

Iigo also turned to X last night to convey his message that DPD will not cooperate with federal immigration officials.
“There is no place for fear in our community,” igo wrote in X. “I am meeting with the interested parties in Dallas to assure you that we are here to serve and protect all the residents of Dallas and I am committed to enforcing the ordinances municipal and state laws “.
It is not the first time that Iigo makes public comments that seem to be counteracted for the Trump administration.

At the end of last month, Iigo published a video message in X, saying that all residents would be treated in the same way regardless of their immigration status.
Iigo’s latest comments are produced when the newly sworn attorney PAM Bondi Trump filed a lawsuit on Wednesday Against the state of New York and its governor, Kathy Hochul, and the attorney general Letitia James, claiming that not complying with the federal law by protecting illegal immigrants.
