Israil Madrimov seems ready for his next fight against the interim interim weighing champion of WBC, Vergil Ortiz Jr., on the last Crescendo card on February 22 in Riad. The former 154-pound champion of the AMB Madrimov (10-1-1, 7 kos) showed his movement and rapid combinations in a video clip in the ring.
Madrimov’s awkward style and mobility could give Ortiz Jr. (22-0, 21 ko), but he will have to be more willing to fight to win a decision in this fight. Madrimov did not throw enough in the posterior rounds in his last fight against Terence Crawford, and let the 37 -year -old player hit him for a unanimous decision of 12 rounds.
Israil had the advantages of youth, power, size and mobility over Crawford. But in the end, he lost because he did not launch enough blows in the second half of the contest. Terence was more busy in the rounds of 9 to 12, which was the difference.
Nicknamed ‘Little GGG’ Madrimov must fight more like him to win against Ortiz Jr. because he will be surpassed by him, and the judges will give it to the younger boy based on the activity. Madirmov has been fighting for a long time, and should be able to improve his game when he notices failures. He did not make adjustments the last time, but this could be a better style against Vergil Jr., it is not as talented or intelligent as Terence.
If Madrimov can imitate Gennadiy Golovkin in this fight, he has the opportunity to eliminate or write down the falls of Ortiz Jr., comes from an exhausting fight against Serhii Bohachuk on August 10 and was abandoned twice in that contest. Fans think Vergil Jr. should have lost the fight because it was excelled. If that fight took some Ortiz, Madrimov has the power of a single shot to put it on the deck and possibly knock him out.
