Former marine conversations that end the war in Ukraine

Vice President JD Vance According to reports, on Thursday he warned that the United States would not rule out difficult sanctions or even a possible military action against Russia if President Vladimir Putin did not reach the negotiating table in an agreement that would guarantee peace for Ukraine.
When talking to the Wall Street Journal, who was the first to inform about Vance’s comments, said the vice president sending American troops Ukraine was “on the table” if Russia could not negotiate in good faith.

Vance’s comments occurred one day before the vice president is expected to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Munich. European leaders will closely observe the discussions to evaluate where President Trump is in negotiating the end of the Russian-Ukraine War, which is approaching three years.
President Trump had what he described as a “long” phone call with Putin on Wednesday, which included the Russian leader who “immediately” started “war negotiations in Ukraine.

Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are scheduled to direct the United States delegation to the Munich Security Conference, where the future of Ukraine will be the main article on the agenda.
Trump has been vague about his specific intentions, apart from suggesting that an agreement will probably result in Ukraine being forced to give up territory that Russia has seized since Crimea annexed in 2014.

“The Ukraine War has to end,” Trump told journalists on Thursday. “Young people are being killed at levels that no one has seen since World War II. And it is a ridiculous war.”
Both Trump and the United States Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegesh, launched the hopes of Ukraine this week of becoming part of NATO, which the alliance said that less than a year ago was “irreversible” or recovering its territory captured by Russia, which currently occupies about 20%, including Crimea.

“I don’t see any way that a country in Russia’s position can allow NATO to join,” Trump said Thursday. “I don’t see that happens.”
When asked what Russia should give up to get to a deal, he said that conversations have not yet begun and that “maybe Russia will renounce a lot, maybe they won’t.”
At the NATO headquarters, Hegseth reiterated on Thursday that “simply pointing to realism as the borders will not be reversed to what everyone wanted to be in 2014 is not a concession to Vladimir Putin.” He said it is a recognition of the realities in the field.
However, he added that neither Russia nor Ukraine “will get everything they want” and emphasized that “any negotiation that has had will have both.”
