Actor Gabriel Basso, who stars in the Netflix Thriller“The Night Agent”, and played a young JD Vance in “Hillbilly Elycy”, believes that actors must be artists, not political commentators.
“I don’t think the actors are famous,” Basso said while he was in the podcast “Great Company” on January 31, after being asked if he enjoyed the fame that came from starring in the popular Netflix series.
The actor spoke against celebrities who use his platform to deliver political messages, saying that this was far beyond the reach of his work.
“We are saying words that we are told to say,” he began. “They tell us how to say them, they tell us where to stand. And then we are telling people how to vote?” He made fun.

“No. You are not supposed to be there. You are doing a very specific job,” he said.
