Why Elon Musk brings his children to work

Elon Musk’s children have been in places that many will never see.

From meetings with foreign leaders to the control room of a spacex launch, Musk’s children have debuted as a constant buyer of their father’s efforts in technology, business and now, politics.

They have made frequent appearances in the capital of the nation since President Donald Trump took advantage of the technological and co -founder billionaire of Tesla to lead the newly formed government efficiency department.

Musk’s four -year -old boy, “Lil X”, hung on the corner of the desk resolved in the Oval office on Wednesday wearing a pea coat and a shirt with neck.

On Thursday, X and two of his brothers exchanged gifts with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while his father discussed technology and innovation with the foreign leader.

Musk has frequently been seen with his children even before coming to Washington, in a meeting with the president of Turkey, a commemorative service in the Auschwitz concentration camp and a ceremony of Time magazine where the person of the year of 2021 was appointed.

But why do Musk children accompany?

“The inclusion of children in many public appearances is largely a political movement or a political movement to seem a little more pleasant (and) adopts a human approach to how the public sees it,” says Kurt Braddock, an American university of the American University Professor of Public Communication.

Even so, Braddock thought the decision to carry Musk’s preschool to the Oval office was unusual.

X seemed bored during the 30 -minute press session while imitating his father, sat on the ground and received an occasional lateral look and smiles from the leader of the free world. In a moment, it seemed that he told someone in the room that “paste” his mouth.

Braddock said he believes that his inclusion is intentional, a distraction that benefits both Musk and Trump.

“I think there is some strategy here trying to get attention to some things while diverting attention to other things,” he said.

Haber, a strategic communication consultant who has worked with five presidential campaigns and teaching in Harvard, said that Musk children who make frequent appearances, and the creation of viral moments, are beneficial for Trump.

“For Trump, the more chaos, the more floods the area, the less anyone can really concentrate. Chaos works for him,” he said.

Grimes, Musk’s ex -girlfriend and X’s mother, criticized his son’s appearance in the Oval office.

“I shouldn’t be in public like this,” he wrote in a publication about X. “I didn’t see this … but I’m glad he was Cortes. Sigh.”

In an article by Vanity Fair of 2022, he said he was not a fan that his son was in the center of attention.

“Whatever is happening with the things of the family, I feel that children need to stay out, and X is out there. I mean, I think he is really seeing him as a protected and taking him to everything and things .. .

Long before politics, Musk allowed his children to accompany.

A decade ago, when I was still building its profile and anxious to attract attention to its manufacturer of Tesla electric vehicles, it was not unusual to see them in the events.

While analysts and reporters waited for a presentation to begin in a Tesla installation in Silicon Valley in 2015, you could see their five children running through the halls chasing each other and leaving laughing.

Despite being forced to wait for hours for attendees, the presence of Musk’s children created an atmosphere that felt relaxed and even cheerful.

It was a deviation from the rigid and much more formal events carried out by other companies for which the perspective of seeing very young children of an executive would have seemed strange.

Musk has had 12 children with three different women.

His most recognized son, x Æ A-12?, Goes through “Lil X”, the same letter as Musk used to check Twitter when he bought the social networks company.

The four -year -old has been called “Emotional Support Human” by Musk himself.

Walter Isaacson, author of Musk’s biography, said in the newspaper of a CEO podcast that Musk is “deeply committed” to his children and is “almost obsessed with them.”

“With their own children, their lovers, their wives, there is the same intensity that is baked in everything it does,” said Isaacson.

“He always likes to have some of his children around him. He always likes to have a partner, but that does not mean that he likes calm.”
