The Wyoming Department of Transportation said on social networks that geologists and bridge engineers with their equipment were “on their way to evaluate tunnel infrastructure.”
The accident occurred around 11:37 am in the Green River tunnel in the west direction, which caused a fire inside the tunnel, according to the Wyoming road patrol.

The road remained closed in both directions on Friday night, with the lanes east of the tunnel used for the staging of the first responder.
