Joshua’s 2025 plans: Waiting for fury, exploring other opponents

Anthony Joshua is training difficult to stay ready for his return to the ring in 2025. The ex two times heavyweight champion Joshua (28-4, 25 kos) has not yet chosen an opponent for his next fight, but he believes he is Waiting for Tyson Fury to announce that he is coming out of retirement.

The promoter Eddie Hearn says that Fury is what they want, but are also interested in a rematch with the FIB Daniel Dubois champion. Joshua, 35, wants to avenge his defeat in the fifth round against Dubois since last summer on September 21. The two fought in front of a great crowd at the Wembley stadium in London. Losing in front of all those fans was a disappointment to AJ, since he disappointed them.

If Fury is not described soon, Joshua must decide whether to continue waiting or stay busy fighting one of the main contestants. Deontay Wilder is another type that Hearn is interested in fighting Joshua. Andy Ruiz Jr. is interested in a trilogy with Joshua, and that is a fight that would attract a lot of interest.

Hearn has not been excited about Joshua fighting Bakole. It could be that he feels that the fight would not be sold to the United Kingdom market because Bakole is not known by casual boxing fans. It is also a risky fight for Joshua because it comes from a fifth -round Ko loss of four rounds against Dubois. Fighting a dangerous hitter like Bakole in his first fight sounds like a bad idea.

Wilder, 39, is also a risky fight, and could be more problems than it is worth at this stage of his career. It is too late in the game for a fight between Joshua and Deontay to be worth chasing.
