Pope health a “complex clinical situation,” says the Vatican

Pope Francis is being treated by a “complex clinical situation” and will remain in the hospital for as long as necessary, according to the Vatican.

The 88 -year -old man entered Friday at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome to undergo bronchitis treatment and tests.

In an update on Monday, the Vatican has said that the Pontiff has a “polymicrobial infection” of his respiratory tract, which has required a change in his treatment.

Before his admission last week, the Pope had symptoms of bronchitis for several days and delegated officials to read speeches prepared at the events.
