The company accused of transmitting the calls, Lingo Telecom, faces a fine of $ 2 million, although in both cases the parties could solve or negotiate even more, said the FCC.

Kramer faces 13 charges for serious crimes claiming that he violated a law of New Hampshire against trying to dissuade someone to vote with misleading information. It also faces 13 positions for minor crimes that accuse him of falsely representing as a candidate through his own conduct or that of another person. The charges were filed in four counties and will be prosecuted by the State Attorney General’s office.
Kramer previously told Outlet News 9 that produced telephone calls as a trick to demonstrate the need to regulate AI technology.
“Maybe I am a villain today, but I think, in the end, we have a better country and a better democracy due to what I have done deliberately,” Kramer said about the investigation.

After the revelations, New Hampshire attorney general, John Formella, announced an investigation into the calls.
Formella said the researchers had identified the Life Corp. based in Texas. As the source of calls and that the calls were transmitted by another company based in Texas, Lingo Telecom.

Lingo Telecom said he does not agree with the action of the FCC, which called an attempt to impose new rules retroactively.
“Lingo Telecom takes its regulatory obligations extremely seriously and has fully cooperated with federal and state agencies to help identify the parties responsible for originating the Robocall campaign of New Hampshire,” the company said.
“Lingo Telecom was not involved at all in the production of these calls and the actions that met all federal regulations and applicable industry standards.”
