There is a small number of several -year subsidies commitments that we did before that we will still honor, but none of these will support political activism.”
Malandro added: “Looking towards the future, we hope that CZI’s growing approach will continue to push the borders of biology and AI.”
As for Dei, Malandro cited “the regulatory and legal landscape.”
“In addition, given the changing regulatory and legal panorama, we will no longer have a team of diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility in CZI,” he wrote. “The three members of that team have made the transition to new roles and responsibilities.”
As for hiring, CZI has also “discontinued our practice of diverse slate.”
