Ille et Vilaine GendarmeriePolice in western France are investigating how a motorhome ended up in an unusual position next to a road.
The officers were surprised to find the abandoned vehicle with the hood on a ditch and the back against the upper electricity lines near the city of Saint-Malo on Saturday.
In Facebook publication Later that day, they said that “they expect sincerely (the driver and any passenger) are fine.” The Ouest-France newspaper quoted the eye witnesses saying that the driver and two other people left the scene after the accident.
On Sunday, the driver informed the police and was unharmed, the report adds. The officers told the BBC that prosecutors had launched an investigation.
On the day of the accident, the crane driver who was called to eliminate the ICI news service told the ICI news website: “I had never seen anything like that in my 22 -year career.”
The BBC has approached the Saint-Malo prosecutor’s office to comment.
