Since 2012, Walmart has maintained the distinction of being the main income generator every quarter, a title that won after advancing to the oil giant Exxon Mobil.
Walmart still leads the way in annual sales, although Amazon is gaining ground. It is projected that Walmart recovers $ 708.7 billion in next fiscal year, while Amazon’s full year revenues for 2025 is expected to reach $ 700.8 billion, according to FACTSET.
The Main Retail Unit of Amazon remains its largest income generator, but its upper line is also being fed by its mass computing businesses in the cloud, advertising and sellers services. The services of third -party vendors, including commissions and rates collected by Amazon in compliance and shipping, advertising and customer service, represented 24.5% of the company’s total sales last year. Amazon Web Services was responsible for almost 17%.
Walmart has sought its main rival for ways to maintain sales growth. The company operates a third -party market and offers sellers compliance services, although both companies are a Amazon size fraction. Walmart has also launched an advertising business and a loyalty program for buyers, called Walmart+that competes with Amazon Prime.
