The officer in command of the US Marine Aircraft Carrier. Uss Harry S. Truman was relieved of his command on Thursday, more than a week after the ship crashed with a merchant ship where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Suez Canal.
According to a press release, Captain Dave Snowden felt relieved due to a loss of confidence in his ability to command. It has been temporarily assigned to the Naval Air Forces Atlantic, which, to the senior United States Navy official, told Fox News, is essentially a professional resident.
“Something that should have happened did not happen. A ship that has not taken measures to avoid a collision is in the Captain. The dollar stops with him,” said the senior Navy official.
Snowden extraction occurs after Truman was involved in a collision with the merchant ship Besiktas-M on February 12, while preparing to enter the Suez Canal from the Mediterranean Sea.

That night, the carrier passed near Port said on a route from the Mediterranean back to Red Sea.
The senior marine official said when the carrier approached the mouth of the river route, was filled, and added that it was just before midnight.

Snowden was relieved by the rear admirer Sean Bailey, commander of Carrier Strike Group 8, after serving as an officer in command of the aircraft since December 2023. A pipe that runs along the ship’s side also seems severely damaged, although all the damage is above the water line.
The ship is currently being repaired in Souda Bay in Greece, and the senior official said it should be a matter of days before he can return to the Red Sea.
