WBC’s interim medium-sized medium-sized weight champion, Vergil Ortiz (23-0, 21 kos), exceeded a slow beginning to recover in the second half to defeat Israilv Israilv (10-2-1, 7 kos) for a unanimous decision 12 rounds on Turki Alalshikh’s letter on Saturday night in the Arena kingdom in Riad, Saudi Arabia.
Madrimov surpassed Vergil Jr. in the first six rounds, making him miss and repeatedly catching him with acute and precise blows in the head that swelled his eyes.
In the second half of the fight, the pressure of Ortiz Jr arrived in Madrimov, who was tired of all the useless movement he had done before. Madrimov still landed the best shots and seemed to have done enough to win two of the last six rounds. However, the judges felt Vergil Jr. was the best guy.
