The suspect was arrested on the scene.
The man seriously wounded two police officers, one in the neck and one in the chest. A spectator tried to intervene and was killed.
The suspect is a 37 -year -old Algerian who was subject to a deportation order because he was on a terrorism surveillance list, according to the local prosecutor. The prosecutor has opened a terrorist investigation because, according to the reports, the suspect shouted “Allahu Akbar.”
The incident took place in a demonstration in support of Congo, where police officers were in Patrol.
“Horror has seized our city,” said Michele Lutz by Mulhouse Michele on Facebook.
The Interior Minister Bruno Retillea is expected to visit the scene on Saturday night.
