A shooting on the outskirts of the Kirtland Air Force base in New Mexico He left a dead aviator and another hospitalized on Saturday morning, said the Air Force.
The members of the 377th Squadron of the Security Forces responded to an incident at the Truman door of the Albuquerque base around 2 in the morning on Saturday.
The aviator was found dead on the scene, said the Air Force.
The second wounded aviator was shot in his hand and has been discharged from the hospital, the Air Forces He said in the statement.

In an update, the Air Force said that an incident led to an off -base search that resulted in the shooting.
The Special Research Office of the Air Force is investigating the shooting together with the FBI and Albuquerque Police Department.
The Air Force added that there is no threat to the public.

The military did not reveal the identity of the shooter or say if someone is in custody.
Albuquerque Police are not looking for more suspicious, said police spokesman Gilbert Gallegos to The Associated Press.
