JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon On Monday he said that the United States government is inefficient and needs work while the Trump administration ends thousands of federal employees and works to dismantle agencies, including the Office of Financial Protection of the Consumer.
Dimon was asked by CNBC’s Leslie Picker if he supported the efforts of the Elon Musk Government Efficiency Department. He refused to give what he called a “binary” response, but made comments that supported the general effort.
“The government is inefficient, not very competent, and needs a lot of work,” Dimon told Picker. “It’s not just about waste and fraud, its results.”
The Trump administration effort to control spending and analyze federal agencies “must be done,” Dimon added.
“Why are we spending money on these things? Are we getting what we deserve? What should we change?” Dimon said. “It is not just the deficit, it is about building the correct policies and procedures and the government we deserve.”
Dimon said that Dege overrews himself with his cost reduction efforts or involved in an activity that is not legal, “the courts will stop it.”
“I hope it’s quite successful,” he said.
In the wide interview, Dimon also approached his company’s impulse to have most workers in office five days a week, as well as their views on the Ukraine conflict, tariffs and consumer of states Joined.
