Pope Francis88, rested on Monday morning, his tenth day at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome for a complex lung infection that led to the early stages of renal failure, according to the Vatican.
“The night had a good time, the Pope slept and rest,” said the Vatican in a statement.
It is not clear if I was awake and breakfast.
Francis was admitted to the hospital on February 14 after a week of bronchitis worsened. The first doctors diagnosed the complex infection of the viral, bacterial and fungal respiratory tract and, subsequently, the beginning of pneumonia in both lungs.

On Sunday night, doctors said the blood tests revealed “early and mild renal failure”, but that it remained under control. Doctors said Francis remained in Critical condition But he had not experienced more respiratory crises since Saturday night.
Francis, who removed a part of a lung when he was younger, received high supplementary oxygen flows and received two blood transfusions on Sunday to increase hemoglobin levels. Doctors said their forecast was guarded.
The Pope was alert and responded on Sunday and attended the Mass.
Francis’s condition is tactile, given his age, fragility and pre -existing pulmonary disease, the doctors said. The main threat to Francis, the doctors warned, is sepsis, a serious blood infection that can arise as a complication of pneumonia.

There have been no indications of any sepsis appearance from Monday morning.
Monday is Francis’s tenth day at the hospital, coinciding with his papacy’s longest hospitalization. He spent 10 days at the Gemelli hospital in 2021 after he was removed 13 inches from colon.
Cardinal Timothy Dolan said Sunday in New York that Faithful Catholic They were united “next to a dying father”, a recognition of the short time of Francis who let the church leaders in Rome have not said publicly.

“As our Holy Father, Pope Francis has a very, very fragile health, and probably close to death,” Dollan said in his homily from the pulpit of the Cathedral of St. Patrick.
Later, Dolan told journalists that he expected and prayed that Francis “recovered.”
