Dead body placed next to the Australian couple on the flight of Qatar Airways


An Australian couple has talked about the “traumatic” moment, the body of a dead passenger was placed next to them on a Qatar Airways flight.

Mitchell Ring and Jennifer Colin, who were traveling to Venice for a dream vacation, told Channel 9 of Australia that a woman died in the hall at her side during Melbourne’s flight to Doha.

The couple says that Cabin Crew sat their body, which was covered with blankets, next to Mr. Ring during the remaining four hours of the flight and did not offer to move it, despite having empty seats.

Qatar Airways said he apologized for “any inconvenience or anguish that this incident may have caused,” he added that he was in the process of contacting passengers.

Ring said the staff responded “in a short time” when the woman collapsed, but that “unfortunately the lady could not be saved, which was quite heartbreaking to see,” he told the A current subject program.

Cabin’s crew tried and could not move his body to the executive class, he explained.

“They tried to take her to the executive class, but she was a rather large lady and could not take her through the hall.

“They seemed a bit frustrated, then they looked at me and saw that the seats were available by my side: my wife was on the other side, we were at first sight of four.

“They said: ‘Can you move please?’ And I just said, ‘yes no problem’.

“Then they placed the lady in the chair where she was.”

Mrs. Colin said she was surprised when her husband said they were asked to rise: “I said: ‘Are they going to put it there?'”

While Mrs. Colin was able to move to a nearby empty seat, Ring said they did not give her the option to do it because of the cabin crew, although there were vacant seats.

When the plane landed four hours later, he said that passengers were asked to stay bankrupt while the medical staff and the police rose on board.

“Ambulance officers began to get the blankets from the lady,” Ring said.

“I have to see his face.

“I can’t believe they told us to stay.”

The couple said they had not been contacted or offered any support by Qatar Airways or Qantas, the airline through which they reserved the flight.

“They have a duty to take care of their customers and their staff,” Ring said.

“They should be contacted to make sure, do you need any support? Do you need any advice?

“I really don’t know how I feel and I would like to talk to someone to make sure it’s fine.”

Mrs. Colin described the experience as “traumatic” and said: “We totally understand that we cannot hold the airline for the death of the poor lady, but there must be a protocol to take care of customers on board.”

In a statement, Qatar Airways said: “In the first place, our thoughts are with the passenger family that sadly died aboard our flight.

“We apologize for any inconvenience or anguish that this incident may have caused, and we are in the process of contacting passengers according to our policies and procedures.”

A spokesman for Qantas said: “The process to handle incidents aboard a plane like this is administered by the operational airline, which in this case is Qatar Airways.”
