Michelle Trachtenberg, who jumped to fame when he was a children’s star in the nineties and 2000, died at age 39, said the New York Police Department to CBS News, the US partner of the BBC.
The American actress was better known for playing Buffy The Vampire Slayer’s younger sister, Dawn Summers, and then assumed the role of the Socialité Manipulator Georgina Sparks in Gossip Girl, which worked from 2007 to 2012, as an adult.
His death is not being treated as suspicious, police said.
Trachtenberg made his film debut in Harriet The Spy in 1996, and appeared in several Nickelodeon productions.
BBC News has communicated with Trachtenberg representatives to comment.
Police in Manhattan said they responded to an emergency call on Wednesday morning, and found Trachtenberg “unconscious and insensitive.” She was “pronounced died in the scene.”
“No crime is suspected. The coroner will determine the cause of death. The investigation is still ongoing,” said the NYPD in a statement.
Trachtenberg began acting at three years in the television series Nickelodeon The Adventures of Pete & Pete.
In the early 2000s, she was nominated for several acting awards, including an Emmy award during the day, for her role in Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
He also starred in films such as Eurotrip, Ice Princess, Killing Kennedy and Sister Cities.
Trachtenberg first appeared at Gossip Girl in 2008. He returned to the role of two episodes of the second season of HBO Max’s restart in 2023.
His last important role of action was in 2021 as the host of a true crime docuseries crime.
In 2021, Trachtenberg accused Buffy, the vampire creator Joss Whedon, of an inappropriate behavior in the set after his co -star Carisma, the carpenter said he had been traumatized due to the treatment he received from Whedon.
