Anti-Israel protesters take over the building in Barnard College in New York

A group of more than 50 anti-Israel protesters took care of a building in New York City Barnard College and allegedly assaulted an employee on Wednesday night.

The demands include an “immediate investment of the two expulsions from the two students of Barnard” and “amnesty for all disciplined students to Pro-Palestinian action or thought. Leave all charges now! “

They also requested a public meeting with Dean Leslie Grinage and President Laura Rosenbury, and the abolition of the “corrupt disciplinary process of Barnard”, demanding full transparency for current, past and future disciplinary procedures.

A Barnard spokesman said the protesters had assaulted a university employee who ended up being sent to the hospital.

“They encouraged others to enter the without identification campus, showing a shameless contempt for the security of our community,” Robin Levine, vice president of strategic communications by Barnard College, said in a statement.

Levine said it would give them until 9:30 pm to leave the building or school would take other actions.

“We have made multiple efforts in good faith to decline. Barnard’s leadership offered to meet with protesters,” said Levine’s statement. “They refused. We have also offered mediation.”

The protesters began to leave the building at 11 pm, according to Fox 5 New York reports.
