Boston College Eagles: former College football leaves the post 3 days after accepting the job

McGloin issued a statement about the decision. ESPN reported Monday that he was hired to be in O’Brien’s staff.

“This week I made a difficult decision and that I changed my life without full awareness of the consequences that I would have in my wife and young children,” he said, through The Times-Tribuno.

“I really believed that my decision to accept a role in Boston would be good for my family, but when considering more, the moment of such movement proved to be less than optimal. I appreciate his respect for the privacy of my family and I at this time.”

McGloin joined the Oakland Raiders In 2013 and was with them for four seasons. It appeared in 13 games and had 1,868 aerial yards and 11 touchdown passes.

He did not find the NFL field after the 2016 season. He briefly played at the XFL with the Guardians of New York.
