The small city of Cleveland, TexasIt is only 30 miles northeast of Houston, but it feels one million miles anywhere, which could explain why some builders and politicians thought they could go out with their own creating Colony Ridge, a development of 60 square miles in illegal immigrants, posters and crime.
Over the years, predators have attracted many illegal immigrants to the area, possibly doubling the local population and striving local resources to a break point. But on Monday, the Federal and State Police, under the command of Tom Homan border tsar, Colonia Atacada Crestarrested 118 people, some of them violent offensive criminals, sending waves of shock and some hopes through the community.

George Cuellar is co -owner of Wagon Wheel Bar & Grill, and has lived in Cleveland for most of his 53 years. He has observed with horror how the settlement arose.
“Colony Ridge never made sense,” he told me about the thousands of cheap houses in the last seven years. “There is no industry or anything. There is nothing to do these people. It simply makes powerful people rrite.”
When I asked him where the community began to notice a problem, he told me that it was schools. A massive influx of new students, many who do not speak English, have affected the community.
This was disturbingly similar to what I heard last autumn in Springfield, Ohio, which is a similar onslaught of migrants.
Wheel Bar & Grill’s customers by George Cuellar, in Cleveland, Texas, say that illegal immigrants have changed the character of the community.
Cuellar is not without sympathy. Forty years ago, I was learning English in the Cleveland school system. “I learned fast, I had to learn to talk to girls,” he told me.
Travis and Jason were getting a little food after work in the car wheel, and added that the next great warning signal was a significant increase in crime. “It was never like that,” they told me. “Now we have murders once a week, it seems that.”
In fact, on Monday, in the midst of national security raids, a fatal stabbing took place in the Plum Grove section of Colony Ridge, unfortunately, an occurrence too common these days.
Cuellar contacted Maria Acevedo, an activist who helped a Daily Wire Reporter Breaking this story in 2023. She clearly told me that “all are the victim here, including illegal immigrants.”
Acevedo, who is Hispanic, dealt with accusations of racism when he began to highlight the problems in Colony Ridge. But now, she tells me, those problems have become so obvious that those accusations have almost disappeared.
With respect to Monday’s raid, the locals with whom I spoke expressed a cautious optimism. They were glad to see it, but “arrest 118 people will not solve the problem,” Cuellar told me. Acevedo agreed, and added that he hoped it wasn’t just for show.
It is in places like Cleveland, Texas and Springfield, Ohio, where we see the true salaries of the disastrous immigration policies of former President Biden. Of course, an overflowing Roosevelt hotel in New York, a 9 million city, is a problem, but duplicating the population of an 8,000 souls with illegal immigrants is a planned crisis.

The problem in places like Cleveland and Springfield is that it is recently made or no effort to integrate the influx of newcomers to cities. Normally, Cuellar would be excited with an increase in the population, but none of the migrants comes to their restaurant or participates in the life of the city. And in a small town that is a big problem, these are places where everyone greets each other.
When Tyler moved here in New Jersey to take care of his mother, he planned to sleep in a tent until he stood up, but then met Jason, who had a room for him. This is how these communities work, but unlike Tyler, most of the illegals here never become part of that community.

Colony Ridge, Springfield, Ohio, and Aurora, Colorado, are only the small villages that we have heard about suffering the punishing impact of mass illegal immigration. It is probably impossible to know how many areas are suffering in a similar way.
Monday’s raid was a first welcome step for Cleveland residents, but here, and throughout the United States, there is much more work to do, not only to close the border, but to discover how to handle the millions of illegal migrants that are already here.
