Like much about the agenda of President Donald Trump and the highly polarizing political times in which we live, a careful and objective analysis of Doge and The efforts of its leader Elon Musk The correct government is difficult to find as hysteria, chaos and misinformation dominate waves.

Part of this chaos is the fault of the critics of the Administration, who are willing to throw any criticism that can be to the Government’s efficiency department or jet to see what stays. Part of this is because of Doge’s design, where Musk and other Dogs architects have admitted the point that to make an tortilla they will have to break some eggs.

And part of this is an Dege by -product that is a bit, well, chaotic and less precise and clear that they would even like to be (for example, a saving of $ 8 million as a saving of $ 8 billion). The purpose of this article is to separate the facts from fiction and provide people interested in promoting over polarized narratives to an objective look at the State of Dux.

Musk tells the cabinet that Dege’s email was ‘pulse check’ for workers, he warns that ‘he will go bankrupt’ without action

The Government’s efficiency department, led by the Mega Billonario Civil, Elon Musk, began with tremendous public support, and there is no doubt that the goal behind this still has strong public support.

The government of correct size, eliminating fraud and waste, and making an effort to limit the administrative bureaucracy that most Americans know intimately overwhelmed that the federal government are noble objectives that enjoy broad support from the US people. As time has progressed, some early dogs achievements have been worthy of praise, and some tactics have questioned whether this goes like the American people expected.

The email directive that all federal employees respond with some justification for what they are doing and how they spend their time is a good example of “Doge chaos by design.” It led to no less than the new FBI director, Kash Patel, going back. The Royal Office of Personnel and Management did the same, saying that an answer was voluntary and that not to respond would not be a reason for termination, which was followed with a communication of Musk and Doge (which Trump supported) to say that a failure to respond would be a reason for termination.

The lack of clarity here can be part of the “determined chaos”, but has managed to do two things, a positive and one less son. First, he has put in the public square that there are questions about the governmental productivity of employees, and that the new administration wants employees living outside the taxpayers’ money to be responsible. The entire conversation has reoriented the public to questions about efficiency, productivity and responsibility, quite common and accepted concepts in the private sector.

But the negative side is that it has begun to force the public to ask if Doge is a change agent or an agent of chaos, since the lack of clear technique, legality and organized protocols is poisoning the public well. Time will say whether the last point or the previous point prevails in public consciousness.

Critics who believe that Dege is a “constitutional crisis” lack credibility. They were silent when the Biden administration ran without any clarity about who was really in charge. They have not worried about grotesque abuses in USAID, in regulatory agencies that behave outside their jurisdiction, in government entities that worked without responsibility. And the president certainly has plenary authority over the Executive Power, whether or not what has been of the Executive Branch.

On the other hand, if Doge’s real objective is to transcend the headlines, exaggeration, clicks and public fury, there is no way for the effort It can succeed without Congress. Doge is too limited in scope, power and means to make lasting and significant changes in the waste and fraud of government operations and spending without Congress.

As Dege, Musk and orders for government employees to send an email to what they do all day in the headlines, the congress is dedicated to A real budget fight That has real teeth. What they spend, cut and taxes in the coming years will be the law as a result of what Congress decides outside this process.

The need for time is Dux to establish a tone, not chaos and fury, but of prudence and common sense, and for Congress to work in that tone to make a sensible reform of our budget. I may not have many like on social networks, but our children and grandchildren will say thanks.
