Gervonta Davis says he is willing to fight Ryan García, Vasily Lomachenko or Shakur Stevenson after he defeats Lamont Roach this Saturday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Ryan García is the best of the three in terms of the money tank that Davis can do. It is much more popular than Shakur and Lomachenko, and the two have already fought two years ago. That was Tank’s greatest payment day. However, García’s schedule in 2025 is reserved solid with fights against Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero on May 2 and a rematch with Devin Haney in October.
The lightweight champion of the AMB, Tank Davis (30-0, 28 kos) states that he cannot choose a particular name of those three that he would like to fight next, but feels that everyone would be “large” fights. The promoter of Matchroom, Eddie Hearn, seems desperate for Tank to face Shakur below, and is expected to continue pressing.
Fib Vasily Lomachenko champion would be easy to do, but his situation is uncertain. You can retire instead of continuing to fight.
Stephen A. Smith: “Why is this fight, Lamont Roach? What has you done to deserve to be in the ring with you? You have Ryan García saying that when he returns to the ring, he loves you. You have Lomachenko, whom people speak should be in the ring with you. Of course, Shakur Stevenson.
“Many people are talking about him and if you are going to fight him along the way. What do you see in terms of in the ring, who will you face, assuming that you win on Saturday night, what most people suppose it will happen? Who do you see in a great fight against the fight for you?
Gervonta Davis: “All those types. It is not a specific name, I would say. I sharing the ring with all those guys would be great. He is a world champion. He is rising in weight and dares to be great. We fight before. So, it is history in that. They are two boys trying to be great. “
Smith: “Many people talk about their background and how familiar they are with each other. How well he knows him on a personal level in terms of his association through ranges in terms of his boxing careers?
Tank Davis: “Through boxing, we met. We had similar friends in the world of boxing. We fight before. So, I am familiar with your struggle. Years have spent since I fought against him. So, I don’t know, but it’s great to have someone from that area. I am from Baltimore (and he is from Maryland). It’s great that both enter the ring and share the ring at a professional level. “
“They are two types that are trying to be great.” 😤
