Gary and Kristina, 37, has married In November 2015 and welcomed his daughter named Emilee of the same year. Over the years, Leah has started spending more and more time with her father and stepfather.
In recent episodes Amber admitted that her relationship with Leah was not as tight as she hoped it would be. At the same time, she acknowledged that her mental health struggles – including the diagnosis of bipolar disorder – prevented her to be the best possible mother.

After talking to Cheyenne, Leah repeated her hope that she could one day accept Kristina. While her father agreed to talk to a counselor to get information about what steps he would have to take, warned his eldest daughter of the possible grief that would cause.
“As a father, I want you to make sure you know if it’s 100 percent of what you want,” Gary said. “As soon as it happens, for Amber it would be a big break of heart that I know you are not trying to do it, but it’s just part of the process.”
Leah added, “That’s, but she didn’t pick me up.”
