Demolition eliminates the roller mountain record

Appointed the highest roller coaster in the world when she opened in 2005, Kingda Ka was demolished in Six Flags theme park in New Jersey.

Local officials warned that surrounding areas can listen to a “series of rapid explosions” from the theme park as implosion took place.

The trip is one of several retired in the park giving way to new attractions.
