PCE Inflation January 2025:

Inflation decreased slightly in January as the concerns accelerated about President Donald Trump’s rate plans, according to a report by the Department of Commerce on Friday.

The Personal Consumer Expenses Price Index, the Federal Reserve’s preferred inflation measure, increased 0.3% for the month and showed an annual rate of 2.5%.

Excluding food and energy, Core PCE also increased 0.3% for the month and was 2.6% per year. Fed officials follow the central measure more closely as a better indicator of longer -term trends.

All the numbers were in line with the consensus estimates of Dow Jones and probably keep the Central Bank waiting for the moment of interest rates.
