Mike Mulholland/Getty ImagesPGA Tour Golfer Billy Horschel During his opening round in the Cognisant Classic in Palm Beach Gardens on Thursday, February 27, showed his husband’s status in Florida.
During your round at PGA National Resort, Horschel, 38, came in close contact with the alligator wandering the navigation runway. Rather than throwing into safety, Horschel decided to take things into his hands.
Golfer – who was born and grew up in Grant in Florida and played on the collegiate golf at the University of Florida, Home Gators – grabbed the wedge from his back and put it directly into the face of Gator. The big reptiles retreated and Horschel followed Gator carefully to make sure he slipped back into the water.
“I’m not afraid of Gators,” Horschel told journalists after his bike. “Listen, as I say to most people, I told you that they are more afraid of you.” Most of the time when you come only during the mating season, where they are a little aggressive, and if you are around their nest when they have some eggs. Most of the time are fine. ”
Horschel said he was wondering if a nearby police officer would use his taser on an alligator, but realized he was a better man for this job.
“I grew up with a father who grabbed their tail when they were on the side of the shore and shook them back into the water,” Horschel explained. “I never touched my tail of my hand, but I did it with the club.” Not so big shop. ”
Horschel added, “We were on No. 6 Green and I just released, went there to the left side of the green. I’m going to go to 7, I saw Gator that meets. The cop who worked with us went there and tried to shake him, but he wasn’t supposed to touch him and he tried to get as close as possible. ”
A PGA tour published an incident video through Instagram, which attracted cheerful reactions from golf fans.
“Must replace.” Chris pratt In another Jurassic World 🤣, ”said one person. Another wrote, “Tell me that you are Floridian without telling me you are Floridian.”
One participant of the tournament, who stood near Horser’s Horschel hero, also offered his games in the comments.
“I was there,” the fan wrote. “It was crazy!” No one knew what to do. Gator was heading for the crowd. Billy came out of nowhere to take control. It was Florida Gator, so it makes sense! ”
