Lanham told Fox News Digital that it is “too difficult” to reduce how Hackman will be remembered. Instead, he decided to tell a affectionate memory of the deceased star.

Detectives believe that the circumstances surrounding the death of Hackman and his wife, a classic pianist, require an exhaustive search and research. The authorities confirmed that an external trauma was not seen in Hackman or Arakawa, and the case remains open waiting for autopsy and toxicology results.

During a press conference on Friday, Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza confirmed that the last event indicated in Hackman’s pacemaker was on February 17. When asked if on February 17, nine days before his body was found, it could be the day Hackman died, Mendoza said it was a logical conclusion.
“According to the pathologist, I think it is a very good assumption that this was his last day of life,” Mendoza said. He also confirmed after a discussion with the coroner that Hackman and his wife “negatively tried carbon monoxide.”

Lanham told Fox News Digital that over the years, Hackman created works of art that are now shown inside the restaurant. His first piece was a great mural that the actor was not sure if he could create.

“So we knocked him down, we have framed it,” Lanham said on the mural. “Gene would not come to look at him. We said: ‘Gene, this thing is beautiful, everyone talks about it.’ Betsy, ‘Gene, is beautiful.’
