A 72-year-old man who suffered “multiple blows to 300 miles on the coast of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii” aboard a cruise last week is recovering after being transferred by plane to a hospital, announced the coastal guard of the United States (USCG).

The rescue video shows a Medevac helicopter from the coast guard that looms over the Koningsdam Boat of Holland America Line On Thursday, before a basket went down for the man to enter before being raised and taken to the medical center of the Queen of Honolulu.

The Honolulu Joint Rescue Coordination Center received a notice the previous day that the cruise passenger had multiple blows, and a flight surgeon recommended that it be medisate within 8 pm, said the USCG in a press release.

The next morning, a HC-130 Hercules plane crew and a MH-65 Dolphin Dolphin Helicopter crew south of Honolulu.

John Stockton, HC-130 Hercules aircraft commander at Barbers Point air station, said in a statement. “Teamwork is critically important for Medevacs, which are among the most sensitive missions to the time and high risk we assume.”
