The star of ‘Gray’s Anatomy’ Kate Walsh shares a warning of ‘very subtle’ firm ahead of cancer diagnosis

Walsh told Clarkson that he was not sure if he had a health problem at that time, since people around him initially despised his concerns.

“They are like, ‘oh, you go’. I’m like, ‘no’,” he said. “And then, walking to the dog, I am like, ‘it must be a bit of a windy street’.

“It was very subtle and then, very, ‘oh, it’s adding. I really can’t concentrate. Oh, I’ve been moving too much.’ That kind of thing.”

Walsh continued worrying about his symptoms and decided to look for medical attention.

Looking back, California’s native shared that she learned a valuable lesson in experience.

“I know how important it is to advocate for their own health because people said: ‘You’re depressed’. It was just after (my television program) ‘Bad Judge’ was canceled,” Walsh recalled.

“Your program was canceled. You are depressed,” he reminded people of him. “I’m like, ‘no, something is off.”

Walsh first revealed his diagnosis of brain tumor in a September 2017 interview with Cosmopolitan.

But I got a magnetic resonance and, thank God, because it turned out that I had a very considerable brain tumor in my left frontal lobe.”

Walsh told him at the exit that he was stunned after receiving his diagnosis.

“I just left my body,” he said. “My assistant had taken me there, and I had to go looking for him to be able to take notes because he had gone. It was never something that I had imagined.”

Three days later, Walsh underwent surgery to eliminate growth, and then determined that it was a benign meningioma.

According to the Mayo Clinic, the meningiomas are “brain tumors that begin in the membranes around the brain and spinal cord” and are the most common type of benign brain tumors.

While appearing in “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” Walsh shared that he has a family history of cancer. His father died due to lung cancer complications, and his mother was a survivor of breast cancer.

The actress emphasized the importance of detection and early exam, but acknowledged that it can be difficult for people to talk about their health concerns.

“It’s difficult when you have everyone looking at you, ‘Hmm, I think you’re just this or that. You’re tired.'”
