Representative Darrell ISSA, Republican of California, announced Monday in an X post that was paying the president Donald Trump For the Nobel Peace Prize.
“Today @realdonaldtrump for the Nobel Peace Prize. No one deserves it more,” Issa said in the tweet.
Fox News Digital communicated with ISSA’s office on Tuesday to request a congressman comment on why he decided to nominate the president for the award.

“Not since Ronald Reagan has an American president better represented the national peace resolution through the fundamental strength or case for a world without war,” Issa said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
“Surprisingly, it was Donald Trump’s 2024 election, more than 10 weeks before his oath, which tangibly began the cause of peace in numerous regions of the world, and we are already seeing the benefits. I hope the committee takes note of these extraordinary times and recognizes that President Trump ideally represents what the Nobel Prize must defend,” added the legislator.
President Barack Obama received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009, less than a year in his first term in office.

“Donald Trump was essential to facilitate the first new peace agreements in the Middle East in almost 30 years,” said the congresswoman, according to a press release from January 2024.
Later, in 2024, Tenney nominated Trump, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahuand former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for the award.
