Young Republicans encourage Trump from Texas Watch Party

It is the first rodeo night in Houston, Texas: Generally an unmissable event in the city.

But they gathered in an Irish pub at the city’s suburbs there is a group of young Republicans who do not want to lose President Donald Trump’s Star schedule speech to Congress.

Around a dozen members of the party have accumulated in the back of the pub, while Fox News is understood in the surrounding television screens.

People have been wearing red, white and blue, with flag pins and scarves to customize.

Before the speech began, the club members told me how excited they were to hear Trump’s policies proposals.

If they had to give a qualification the first 44 days in office, it was a unanimous “A+”.

“He has already exceeded all expectations,” a person told me.

When the president went to the podium, the group’s talk stopped, but the cheers and laughter did not.

Deporting a Trump Valance baseball cap, Evan Howard, 26, raised his glass every time the president said something he agreed with. And that was a lot.

“He is going to take energetic measures against crime and be hard with the posters. He will stop a lot of American bloods,” he said.

But Evan admitted that 44 days later, he does not feel the benefit that President Trump returns to office. At least not yet, and you are happy to wait.

“I’m not much better, to be honest, but I like what you are doing,” said Evan. “I see the work that is being done, and I understand that some of these changes that are happening will not happen immediately, and that we will see its effects on the future.”

Sitting in front of Evan was Brittany, which was much less expressive throughout the event than the rest of the table. A 31 year old Woman, she is new in the Republican Party.

“I think he did very well. I thought it was a very unifying message,” he said. “He pointed out many things that the Democrats, whom he used to feel really connected in a moment, have not been able to move on.”

“(Democrats) tend to advocate for certain things that do not really apply to Americans as a whole. Americans are fighting. You have problems with crime, you have people who lose their home, you have homeless people. And the liberals want to talk about pronouns.”

The mentions of pronouns, gender and “wokeness” obtained many cheers and applause from the crowd on Tuesday night.

The boos came every time the cameras walked Nancy Pelosi, or the Democrats who had signs in the crowd, or any legislator who looked sleepy in the crowd.

The only comments for President Trump tonight? Maybe talking a little less from Joe Biden.

But otherwise, the separation message of this group is: promises made and promises maintained.
