A Canadian lawyer is leading efforts to explore the possibility that Alberta joins the United States, such as President Donald Trump continues to press the closest ties with the province rich in energy in Canada.
“There are literally hundreds of shelters that are approaching and offered as volunteers to join our delegation,” said Jeffrey Rath “about”Fox and friends” Thursday.
Rath and a small group of Albertanes plan to travel to Washington, DCTo discuss possible ways for Alberta, including independence with economic ties with the United States, the territorial state or complete status.
He believes that the movement will gain traction as dissatisfaction with the federal leadership of Canada grows.
“It is a management committee of people looking to come to Washington exploratory and meet with a representative appointed by President Trump,” Rath explained.
“Explore the benefits of Alberta becoming an independent sovereign nation with Economic Union for the United States, becoming a territory of the United States or pursuing complete status.”
Rath argues that Alberta, which houses 4.9 million people and an important oil center, manufacturing and construction, has little in common with Canada’s political elite.
“They have completely lost their course,” he said, criticizing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s administration.

“Trudeau and (former governor of the Bank of Canada, Mark) Carney, you know, they are twisting their hands on the rates. They are going to kick albertans in the teeth and generate an increase in the 21% carbon tax in April.”
Rath states that Albertaos feel alienated from Ottawa’s policies and share more cultural and economic ties with Mountain than with the rest of Canada.
“People in Alberta are tired of being governed by idiots politicians in Ontario, who do not understand our province and do not understand that we are culturally more affiliated with our friends to the South in Montana, than with all people in Ottawa,” he said.
Canadian leaders have rejected the notion that Alberta leaves the country. Trudeau reaffirmed the sovereignty of Canada, tell the reporters “There is no snowball opportunity in the hell that Canada is state 51”.
Rath, however, believes that Alberta should have the right to choose his own future. He and other local leaders are writing a proposal to present the Trump administration, urging the United States to support Alberta’s impulse for self -determination.

“Please, support Alberta’s self -determination. It promises that to Alberta in the same way you promised Greenland. We will be an excellent partner for the United States and we will all prosper,” Rath said.
