A Muslim journalist warned the Judicial Committee of the Senate on Wednesday that Anti -Semitism has become An “industry” in the United States, and requested that the Department of Justice investigate the “malignant foreign influence” behind it.
“Anti-Semitism is now an industry. It is an industry that is being perpetuated, unfortunately, by organizations that even have a non-profit state in the United States: 501 (c) (3) S, 501 (c) (4) S”, Asra Nomani, founder of the Pearl project, said President Chuck Grassley, R-Uwa. “And these are organizations that are destroying their own mission to use as a Trojan horse this opposition to Israel to perpetuate this hatred. These young students we have are the objectives of that hatred.”
“On October 7 it became at its time. And what has happened is that, unfortunately, pulling our blows and not recognizing their danger in our society does not serve anyone,” Nomani added. “Absolutely does not serve our interests of an inclusive society. A real inclusive society means that we do not allow the hatred of any kind, and the guy we have at this time against our Jewish community is epidemic proportions.”
In his opening statement, Nomani detailed the origin of the Pearl project, a research project of the Faculty to the Faculty student in the Daniel Pearl murder. Pearl was Nomani’s colleague at the Wall Street Journal when they both reported in Pakistan following the terrorist attacks of September 11. He was kidnapped and killed by Islamic terrorists, who, said Nomani, attacked Pearl for being a descendant of Israel.

Nomani held posters seen in the recent protests against the Israel and in the National Democratic Convention disseminated by the American Muslims for Palestine.

“The hatred that killed Danny Pearl in the streets of Karachi is now in our streets. It is on our campus. It is a terrifying network of the groups on the extreme left and the Islamists,” he said. “No one in this room can support their ideals. His ideals are against individual freedoms and free enterprise. They want to destroy the United States of America. They want destroy Israel. And our young Jewish students on campus, our youngest Danny, are in their sights. ”
Nomani continued: “We must recognize this existential threat. It is a vast network. We must investigate them. We must make them register with the Law of Registry of Foreign Agents when they are doing the work of these malignant foreign actors who want to destroy the United States. And we must support the leaders of the Muslim Reform Movement who wish to stand with our Jewish brothers and sisters.”
Senator Ted Cruz, R-Texas, He later questioned another witness about the financing of anti -Semitism in the United States.
“Is it clear that there is significant money that finances these attacks against Jewish students and attacks against the United States?” Cruz asked Dr. Alyza Lewin, president of the Louis D. Brandeis Human Rights Center.

“It is clear that there is coordination and there must be some common funds,” Lewin replied.
Lewin said he was not aware of any investigation under the Department of Justice of Biden to follow the money behind the anti -Semitic activities, and did not realize that no one was accused about the flow of funds. Cruz again asked if Lewin was aware of any university or institution that had federal funds of the title VI cut because “they tolerated, welcomed” or “they had their own officials encouraging” anti -Semitism, and the witness said it was not.
As for the argument of freedom of expression, Cruz also suggested that universities would bring rapid punishments against people who dared to dress as members of Ku Klux Klan on campus.

“They should expel them. If they are foreign students, they must be deported. And mark my words, if it is horrified by anti -Semitism, you will see that Trump’s Department of Justice follows the money, processes people who are paying for this, process those who participate in violence and cut the money from universities that are tolerating and celebrating this,” Cruz said. “That is the rule of law. And ask yourself: ‘Why does the Biden Justice Department of Justice did nothing about this horror that is being developed?'”
