Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi accused the United States on Friday of “gathering well with evil” for imposing a new round of “arbitrary tariffs” and promised reprisals.
Wang’s burning words arrived during a press conference from Friday to China Annual Parliamentary SessionA few days after the United States raised duties against China, as well as in Canada and Mexico, for accusations of fentanyl smuggling.
All countries have called these unjustified accusations, and China maintains that it has done a lot in recent years to stop exports of industrial chemicals that are used to make fentanyl, which, alleged that Wang has been with punitive tariffs.
The ministry spokesman, Lin Jian, earlier this week, argued that the fentanyl was a “weak excuse“Increasing tariffs on Chinese imports, warning that” intimidation does not scare us “and” intimidation “would not work.

Speaking to journalists on Friday, Wang said it was a fantasy to believe that the United States could “suppress China and maintain a good relationship.”
“Such two -sided acts are not good for the stability of bilateral relations or to build mutual trust,” Wang said.

The duties were the last of a series of retaliation rates that Washington and Beijing have imposed with each other since the return of President Donald Trump in office in January. Trump increased flat rates over all Chinese imports to 20%, while Beijing countered with additional 15% tariffs on US imports, including chicken, pork, soybeans and beef, and expanded controls to do business with key US companies.

The annual press conference of the Foreign Minister is the only occasion in which Wang talks to Chinese and foreigners about a variety of issues. Friday’s event was dominated by questions about China’s ties with the United States, along with other issues, such as regional conflicts and collaborations within the global south.

Regarding the Trump administration policy to safeguard the interests of the United States over international cooperation, Wang said that such a approach, if all the countries of the world adopt it, would result in the “law of the jungle.”

“The small and weak countries will be burned first, and the order and the international rules will be under severe shock,” said Wang. “The main countries should carry out their international obligations … and not seek to benefit and intimidate the weak.”
