However, Michigan’s Republican said Congress could still see what kind of changes they could make.

Trump is expected to firm an executive order to abolish the Department of Education, something that has been pushed by conservative Republicans for years.
On Monday he confirmed just after his new Secretary of Education, Linda McMahon, was confirmed by the Senate on Monday.
The department was created in its modern form in 1980 after then President Jimmy Carter separated him from what is now the Department of Health and Human Services.
