Thousands of employees from the Department of Defense expected to be eliminated

Around 4,000 Ministry of Defense (DOD) Employees have received termination notices this week as the Trump administration advances with plans to reduce the size of the federal government.

ABC News reported that another 31,000 civilian employees, 3.5% of the total civil labor force of the Department of Defense, submitted a request for resignation according to a person administration email office sent to employees.

Some of those requests will be denied because those employees have been exempt, according to the report. Until now, 11,000 of those who submitted resignations have received their requests.

The DOD declined to comment to Fox News Digital on the matter. Fox News Digital has communicated with several defense agencies.
