I am the mother of four children, but I will always be persecuted by him Loss of my firstborn, Weston. Weston was 15 years old when a fentanyl pill poisoned him in 2022.
My son was not an addict; He was a vibrant and active teenager with a big heart. He attended the church twice a week, played football and hockey, surf in the Pacific and laughed that he could illuminate a room.
I tried to be the best mother I could be, encouraging him in her games, cooking family dinners, volunteer in school, but none of that was enough to save him from the poison destroying our country.
Due to the bad border policies of the previous administration, our children can no longer learn from their mistakes; Now they die of them.
Weston’s death was not an overdose; It was an poisoning. Like so many teenagers, he wanted to fit and made a mistake of taking a friend’s pill, thinking it was safe. A pill. An error. That is all that was needed to steal his future and steal my son from our family.
Due to the bad border policies of the previous administration, our children can no longer learn from their mistakes; Now they die of them.
I hold Joe Biden and each Democrat who champions open borders responsible for my son’s death. Each!
When Biden assumed the position in 2021, we lived in southern California, and he threw the doors to our open country. Our borders became a road for chaos when posters, traffickers and fentanyl are poured. I never imagined that one day I would take away my son. That was never going to happen in my house; That is something you just saw in the news.

But Biden’s policies and his “Border Tsar”, Kamala HarrisHe turned a blind eye to the poison that flooded our streets. They allowed this to happen, and families like mine paid for their reckless policy.
Mexico broke international law with posters and Americans suffer the consequences
Illicit fentanyl is now the main cause of death for Americans from 18 to 45 years and is responsible for almost 70% of the 110,000 deaths of “overdose” that we see every year in this country. A pill … just a pill, can end a life. Weston’s death is proof of that.
It is not addiction; It is such a mortal and addictive supply, it is inescapable. And where does it come from? Mexico, with its posters running without control; Canada, where fentanyl laboratories appear under lax supervision; and China, which is sending the chemicals that feed this nightmare. For too long, these countries did nothing while our children died.
That is why I am so grateful to the president Donald Trump. He is taking the fentanyl crisis seriously, something I would like to have seen when Weston was still alive. President Trump is implementing tariffs in the imports of Canada, Mexico and China to hold them responsible for allowing this poison to freely flow to our country.
Not only is he talking about the problem; President Trump is reaching these nations where it hurts: just in his wallets. The president does not believe that they have done enough, and I neither. The Government of Mexico Maga the posters. Canada is allowing laboratories to proliferate. China is flooding the market with precursors. Enough is enough!
Four difficult questions for four mayors of ‘Sanctuary City’
These rates are an emboldened attention call to force responsibility. They tell our neighbors and business partners: stop drugs or pay the price.
Some critics complain about the costs of these rates, but I ask, what is the cost of a child’s life? What value puts my son and the hundreds of thousands of people who have lost their lives on American soil under the last administration?
He would pay anything to recover Weston, and President Trump understands. He is a father and a fighter, who uses the United States economic muscle to protect families like mine. It is not about politics; This is survival.
I think of my Weston every day. Now he should be 18 years old, planning his future, his university path, in what he wants to specialize, not reduced to a name on a tombstone. Biden’s Open Borders Let this poison enter, but Trump’s tariffs are a step to close it.

It’s too late for my son, but it’s not too late for yours. The Fentanyl crisis has taken too many, with hundreds of thousands of American lives stolen by an illicit drug, a poison that seems unstoppable.
President Trump is demonstrating that he is willing to try something different, something difficult. Therefore, I say: Thank you, Mr. President, thank you. Keep fighting!
