Natalie ‘Nadya’ Suleman He is doing everything possible to raise a family of 14.
Suleman found fame in 2009, and won the nickname “Octomom”, after giving birth to the first set of octu -survivors in the world.
While raising six children born before the octupleos and juggling with a full -time university schedule, Suleman faced a violent reaction for being “this unemployed well -being receiver”, which told him People’s magazine “It was not the case at all.”
Although he feels that “his eldest children failed to be” permissive, “Suleman implemented strict rules at home to ensure that the octuple were raised to succeed.

“Personally, I think I failed as a father to implement all the knowledge I acquired at the university,” he said about his six older children. “I simply raised them permissive, which is wrong. You should not do that. You must implement a consistent structure, discipline and consequences, in addition to love, unconditional love and acceptance. I only made the latter.
“I shouldn’t have spoiled them. I learned by the bad. But I still raised them to be friendly and humble.”

For example, “they are not allowed to leave until they are 18 years old,” said Suleman.
“She is very strict and educates us a lot,” said Nariyah, 16. “We have no phones. We have a telephone for communication.”

In addition, Suleman said that “there are no social networks” in his home.
“It’s toxic. I don’t even like to follow him,” he said. “I only do it to share and I fear it. It’s as if I couldn’t even imagine children these days. It is very unhealthy. I don’t think anyone should go to social networks or allow me until they are 18 at least 18 years old.”

She wants to teach her children not to be “obsessed” in themselves.

“Today is very different,” he said. “I am a little more about the old school in how I am raising my children to concentrate on others, try to value it because then the by -product of that is internal joy and happiness, instead of not offending other people and other children these days, but they tend to be a little more.

Suleman, and 11 of his children, live in a three -bedroom apartment in South of California. “We save money because we don’t buy animal products,” Suleman said.

“Those are the most expensive too. And it is the healthiest. But we are ethical vegans, so we are doing it mainly only for animals and to minimize the damage caused to our planet.”
The family plays games at home and enjoys film nights, but some of the teenagers expect a great milestone to approach.

“Driving,” said his son Jeremiah.
Daughter Nariyah, on the other hand, I can’t wait for work.
“I am excited to be able to make money so that we can obviously help mom,” he said.

Makai, the youngest Octuplete, told his mother: “In the future, when we have our own money, then we could get gifts, real gifts for you.”
Suleman replied: “I really don’t want real gifts. I don’t like materialism. I love the letters you write.”
